It is being developed as a bike park in partnership with Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park Inc. (KMTBP), a body of enthusiastic volunteers committed to providing a wide range of trails to suit all users.
It is free and open access to cyclists, who ride the trails at their own risk. Walkers and runners are welcome but must give way to cyclists and observe all track restrictions.
Currently (2017), the Park offers approximately 30 kms of track network, providing a wide range of trails to suit all levels of ability and fitness. More are being added each year. All tracks are well-signposted and, with the aid of our map, easy to follow.
A series of linked, easy-grade, one-way, tracks connect the MTB Park main entrance off Martin Farm Rd with an optional exit beside Bethany Park. Work in 2017 will complete an easy-grade, one-way return circuit. As these tracks are built using a mini-excavator, they are all wide, smooth and gently undulating.
For more confident riders, there is a range of intermediate and advanced-grade riding. A mixture of digger and hand-benched tracks, these offer more challenging gradients and include some narrow 'single-track'.
Almost all of our "upper-level tracks are one-way.
The grade 2 Easy Rider forms part of the Tasman Great Taste Trail cycleway, connecting Kaiteriteri, via Martin Farm Rd, to the Kaiteriteri-Riwaka Rd. This is two-way and allows the use of e-bikes.
Feature tracks in the Park include Jaws, an intermediate-grade, 4km, digger-benched descent that swoops in and out of native bush gullies;
Skullduggery, 4kms of hand-benched singletrack that traverses the Park, offering connections to other intermediate/advanced-grade tracks;
and Big Airs, a jump track with table-tops and doubles of varying size.

Our Skills Zone, located at the Trailer Park, has a Pump Track and wooden elements to improve rider confidence.
Maintenance work is regularly carried out at the Park to ensure all trails are open and in good condition year-round. Work is also undertaken on some pre-existing firebreaks to extend the riding options for advanced and expert riders.
